Privacy Policy
Overview
SitWell - Posture is a posture-monitoring app that works with a physical hardware sensor pad. It also includes an optional AI coaching feature powered by OpenAI. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and what your rights are. Your posture data stays on your device at all times — the one exception is when you choose to use the AI coaching feature, which is described in detail below.
No Account Required
SitWell - Posture does not ask you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or date of birth. You can use the app fully without identifying yourself to us in any way.
What Data the App Uses
SitWell - Posture reads pressure sensor data from the hardware pad over a local Bluetooth connection to calculate your real-time posture score. Your session history and posture trends — such as scores over time and slouch counts — are stored locally on the hardware microcontroller itself. This information is not uploaded to any server and is not accessible to us.
The only exception is the optional AI coaching feature. When you tap "Get AI Analysis," a summary of your recent session data is sent to OpenAI to generate personalised feedback. This is explained fully in the AI Coaching Feature section below.
Your posture data is stored on your hardware pad only and is never sent anywhere — unless you choose to use the AI coaching feature, which sends a summary of your recent sessions to OpenAI. No personal information such as your name, email, or location is ever included.
Permissions We Do Not Use
SitWell - Posture does not request access to your camera, microphone, or location at any time. No such permissions are required to use the app.
Third-Party Services
SitWell - Posture uses OpenAI's API solely to power the optional AI coaching feature. No analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services are used. Outside of the AI coaching feature described below, no data is transmitted to any external party.
AI Coaching Feature
When you tap "Get AI Analysis," the app compiles a summary of your last 12 recorded sessions. For each session, this summary includes the date, how long you sat, your posture score out of 100, and how many slouches were detected. This summary is written in plain text — it contains no personal information such as your name, email address, or location.
That summary is sent to OpenAI's API, where a model acts as a posture-wellness coach: it identifies an overall pattern in your data, highlights one positive, and suggests two practical next steps. The response is returned directly to your app and displayed to you.
This feature is entirely optional. If you never tap "Get AI Analysis," no data is ever sent to OpenAI. OpenAI's handling of data submitted through its API is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
No User-Submitted Content
SitWell - Posture does not allow you to upload files, images, or any other content. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted or stored outside your device.
How to Delete Your Data
You can permanently erase all stored session history and posture data at any time. Open the app, go to Settings, and tap the Clear Data button. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
SitWell - Posture is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Since the app collects no personal data at all, no special procedures for children are required.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is ever updated, the new version will be made available through the App Store listing or within the app itself. We encourage you to review it periodically. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

The posture scores and feedback provided by SitWell - Posture are estimates based on pressure readings from the sensor pad. They are intended as general guidance only. Sensor readings can be affected by factors such as pad placement, chair type, clothing, body weight distribution, and movement. Results may not reflect your actual posture with clinical precision.
If you have a pre-existing back condition, pain, injury, or any health concern related to your posture or musculoskeletal system, please consult a qualified healthcare professional before relying on this app for guidance.
AI Coaching Is Not Medical Advice
The AI coaching feedback generated through the "Get AI Analysis" feature is produced by an AI model based on your session statistics. It is intended as general wellness guidance only. It is not reviewed by a medical professional, and it should not be treated as medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for any concerns about your health or physical wellbeing.
No Liability
The developer, Hengyi Yue, is not liable for any injury, discomfort, loss, or damage arising from your use of SitWell - Posture or your reliance on the information it provides. Use of this app is entirely at your own risk.
Hardware Dependency
SitWell - Posture requires a compatible Posture Pad 2 hardware sensor. The app's functionality, accuracy, and performance are dependent on the condition and correct placement of that hardware. The developer makes no guarantee that the app will function correctly with damaged, modified, or incompatible hardware.
